For four hours on Jan 10 (ET) KFC opened a Brooklyn barber pop-up giving free 1990s Bowl Cuts—“original recipe,” “add a little spice” red bangs, fork-and-bowl, over-the-top, Colonel’s and gravy styles—to hype the USD 3 Famous Bowl (usually USD5) of mashed potato, chicken, biscuit crumbs, gravy and cheese. Bowl cuts are trending again via Headcase Barbers, IG 90s cuts and Ezra Miller; the pun fits Yum Brands’ push for USD1–3 value tiers after Greg Creed noted price gaps.
