German premium kitchen brand GAGGENAU, founded 1683 and named for a Black Forest town near famed spas, opened Restaurant 1683 on the 11th floor of a downtown LA warehouse—first as a 333rd-anniversary VIP pop-up telling the founding myth.
Michelin three-star chef Daniel Humm’s team cooked amid a moonlit snowy forest. Guests rose by freight elevator to a legendary cuckoo clock and traditionally dressed hosts; a corner showcased early products and materials. The main hall became a Black Forest winter wonderland of pines, moonlight and timber furniture so diners watched chefs while immersed in brand history—setting a high bar for immersive chef’s-table dining.
